The BAT Office of Vexillology (OV) came up with a flag. Its inspiration is the flag of the North American Vexillological Association, or NAVA as it is generally called. Of course, it is labeled "batov"

Additionally, the Vexillological Association of the BAT submitted a design also inspired by NAVA. The coincidental resemblance to the BATOV flag is just that, a coincidence..........really........no kidding. The VABAT flag is the British Arctic Territory's first flag not to display the famous BAT bear.

BAT Mountain Climbing Club

The third flag was a sneak job. An intern with the OV who is also a VABAT member had suggested that VABAT's flag should have reversed light blue and dark blue colors so that it would not be confused with the OV's flag. The intern even had a reversed colored flag sewn together and showed up to the March VABAT meeting.

When the intern was shot down, she went outside and hoisted her flag upside down in protest. Little did anyone know that the intern got an idea from the hoisting. She affixed the BAT bear to the upside down flag, declared the flag right side up in her mind, and then snuck the paperwork for the design into the stack of other flag waiting for official OV approval. Mr. Chad Flagg signed all of the paper work, not noticing the extra addition.

So, the BAT now has an "official" BAT Mountain Climbing Club flag. The problem is, there is no BAT Mountain Climbing Club. In order to try and take the edge off of this rather embarrassing situation, several folks are currently scrambling to form a BAT Mountain Climbing Club before the end of the day. Good luck Alpinists!! Has anybody seen that #@@#$&%## intern!?
