The municipality of Logelheim (834 inhabitants in 2014; 430 ha) is located 10 km south-east in Colmar, in the grain-growing plain of Ill.
The village was first mentioned in the 12th century, as Lagelenheim. From the 14th century to the Peace of Westphalia (1648), it belonged to the Habsburg.

The flag of Logelheim (photo) is white with the municipal coat of arms in the center.

The canting arms, "Argent an open handle of small barrel gules", were designed in 1962. Logel means in Lower German and Alsatian "a small barrel" (French, tonnelet, diminutive form of tonneau, "a barrel"). According to A. Stoeber (Elsässische Dorfmarken, Elsässisches Samstagsblatt, Vol. 2, 1857), the Logelnheimer Ring (Logelheim ring) was used as the village's emblem (Dorfmarken) on stones limiting the village's territory as soon as 1704.

Such small barrels (tonneau de moissonneur, images) were used by harvesters (moissonneurs) to transport beverages in field.
