The flag of Saint-Jouan-des-Guérets (photo) is white with the municipal coat of arms, "Quarterly, 1. and 4. Argent three ermine spots sable 1 and 2, 2. Azure a cauliflower or, 3. Azure a crozier contourned issuant from a Celtic boat the oar per bend sinister all or."
The ermine spots evoke Brittany, the cauliflower recalls market gardening in the municipality, and the Celtic boat evokes the landing of monk St. Budoc, founder of the settlement. Leaving Wales, Budoc would have miraculously arrived aboard his boat on the coast of Brittany coast.
