Symbols of Carrizosa

The flag of Carrizosa is prescribed by an Order issued on 9 January 2008 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 18 January 2008 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 14, pp. 1,052-1,053 (text).
The flag is described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular, in proportions 2:3, made of six vertical stripes, in proportions 1/2 the stripe at hoist and 1/10 the other ones, at hoist white with a red Cross of St. James, another three green and two white stripes.

The coat of arms of Carrizosa is prescribed by Royal Decree No. 2,924, signed on 26 November 1976 and published on 22 December 1976 in the Spanish official gazette, No. 306, p. 25,488 (text).
The coat of arms is described as follows:

Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Argent a Cross of the Order of St. James gules, 2. Or seven sedges vert leaved of the same per fess on waves azure and argent. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.

The Royal Academy of History validated the proposed arms, of "simple and logic heraldic organization" and merging two different elements - which is not necessarily recommended. The Cross of St. James recalls that Carrizosa was once the seat of a commandery of the Order. The sedges [carrizos], the village's namesakes, once grew profusely on the banks of river Cañamares.
[Boletín de la Real Academia de la Historia 176:1, 200. 1979]

The arms were proposed on 15 October 1974 by Ramón José Maldonado y Cocat.
