Overview

Lääne-Nigula Parish is a new municipality in Lääne County formed from seven formerly separate municipalities. Oru, Risti, and Taebla merged first in 2013, followed by Noarootsi, Nõva, Kullamaa, and Martna in 2017. In 2021, eight sub-municipalities were established, bearing the names of the former municipalities plus Palivere. The municipality's administrative center is located in Taebla. Flag description: on a green field, a white four-leaf shape featuring a red cross formée, positioned towards the hoist, and white horizontal bars. The ratio of the flag's width to its length is 7:11.

Kullamaa vald - Adopted 16 June 1995. The two specially formed crosses refer to two ancient places Kullamaa and Koluvere. The golden and green colors and the golden coin refer to the name of municipality. In Estonian kuld is gold, maa is land. Kullamaa is land of gold. The land has also brought wealth (gold) to the people.
