Starnberg City Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, on top of a triplemount issuant Vert a starling statant Sable armed Or.
Meaning:
The settlement on the shores of the Starnberger See, a lake, had been seat of a district of the Dukes of Bayern since 1248. Starnberg gained city rights in 1912. The adoption of the family arms of the Starnberger kin was rejected. It had been nearly the same but the background was parted per pale of white and red and the shield had a base lozengy of white and blue. The current city arms are canting, the meaning is "mountain of starlings".

The arms were granted on 13 May 1912 by Prince Regent Luitpold of Bayern.
