Hohentengen Coat of Arms

French Shield Sable, a lion rampant double queued Or, holding in his forepaws an inescutcheon Gules, charged with a fess Argent.
Meaning:
The Sewers of Waldburg ruled Hohentengen in the 17th century as an Austrian fiefdom. Their arms displayed three black lions in a golden field, the lion is a modification of those arms. The inescutcheon refers to the Austrian liege lords. The lion is tongued sometimes golden and sometimes red. Emperor Leopold granted the arms in 1682 to the chief administrators of the district (Amtmänner) and the local courts. Later these arms had been transferred to the village.
