Vöhringen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess dancetty of Argent and Gules, in base charged with a plough share Argent.
Meaning:
In 1931 the municipality adopted arms without approval as follows: in a silver shield a plough share of iron colour (= blue). This pattern was known from seals of the village mayor since the early 19th century and had been in use until the 1930ies. In 1955 the municipality applied for new arms and the arms of the Counts of Sulz were chosen in order to distinguish the municipal arms from similar ones, all displaying a plough share. The Counts of Sulz had been the oldest known local rulers. They released the village to Alpirsbach Abbey in 1098.
