Mötzing Coat of Arms

Shield quartered, 1st quarter Or a bend Sable, 2nd quarter Gules a bend wavy Argent, 3rd quarter paly of six of Argent and Azure, 4th quarter Argent parted by a cross Sable charged with a throughout crosslet Or.
Meaning:
The quartered shield is referring to the merger of Dengling, Haimbuch, Mötzing proper and Schönach in 1972. The 1st quarter displays the arms of the Kastner family and is representing Mötzing proper. The family died out in the 16th century. The black bend is also representing an important historical road for cattle trecks. The 2nd quarter displays the arms of the Berchem family, who owned an estate in Dengling until 1848. The 3rd quarter displays the arms of the Counts of Seinsheim, the most important manorial lords in Haimbuch since 1764. The cross is referring to the Regensburg Commandery of the Teutonic Order, which also had large properties in Haimbuch.
