Süsel Municipal Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
In a blue field is a silver (= white) tower, masoned black. The tower is flanked by a golden (= yellow) radiant sun on the dexter side and a waxing moon crescent of the same colour on the sinister side. The tower is standing on a golden mountain with three peaks. On the base the mountain is divided by a blue fess wavy.
Meaning:
The tower is symbolizing a local navigation mark. Sun and moon are symbolizing that the mark was in service by day and night. The mountain is symbolizing the local landscape. The fess wavy is symbolizing Schwartau creek and the lakes around Pönitz.
