Hochstadt Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a crozier Or issuant from a chalice of the same, in chief a throughout bridge Argent masoned Sable with three arches.
Meaning:
The bridge is symbolising the local crossing of the Main River. The bridge was finished in 1783 and destroyed during the last days of WW2. Chalice and crozier are taken from the arms of the Cistercian Langheim Abbey. Bishop Otto I of Bamberg (1102 - 1139) founded the monastery and Bishop Otto III (1177 - 1196) donated his estates in Hochstadt to the monastery. The village was ruled by the monastery until 1803.
