Geisenhausen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a house Argent with stepped gable and connected with two embattled towers of the same on either side, all with port and windows Sable, base lozengy of Argent and Azure.
Meaning:
Geisenhausen gained the privileges of a market town in 1453. The oldest seal prints since 1514 displayed the same pattern in a shield. The base is stressing the sovereignty of the Dukes of Bayern-Landshut. The house is canting. Stepped gable and towers give a touch of a castle to the house. Later versions changed the house in details, displaying it e.g. as a gate, an embattled wall or a façade. Most seals since 1556 displayed an angel as supporter, which was extraordinarily confirmed as part of the arms by the authorities. The oldest pattern was restored since 1953.
