Saal Coat of Arms

Shield Azure three bendlets Argent, in sinister chief a postal horn Or.
Meaning:
The bendlets are taken from the family arms of the Salla kin, probably extincted around 1400. The pattern is known by a seal on a charter of the Free Imperial City of Regensburg from 1398. The horn is alluding to the fact that Saal had a coaching inn since 1530. The service was operated by the Barons of Thurn and Taxis at least since 1630. The barons were succeeded by the Royal Bavarian Mail Service in 1808.

The banner has never been approved officially. The arms were approved on 27 September 1960 by Minister of Interior of Bayern.
