Shield Argent six barrulets Sable, in a canton Gules a 6-spokes wheel Argent.
Meaning:
In the Middle Ages castle and market town of Krautheim belonged to the Counts of Eberstein. King Albrecht I granted city rights in 1306. The first part of the city was sold to the Archbishopric of Mainz in 1365, the other part in 1399. The city remained a dominion of the archbishops until 1802. The first seal from 1473 already displayed the wheel of Mainz. As a dominion of Baden the seal displayed trefoil, perhaps a local symbol. Since 1898 the wheel of Mainz had been restored. Otto Hupp displayed a silver wheel on a red shield in 1925. In order to distinguish from other identical arms the background colour of the shield was changed in 1950. Since then it was parted per pale of red and green. In 1971 the current arms were established. The wheel is alluding to the Archbishopric of Mainz and the barrulets are taken from the arms of the Lords of Krautheim.
