Lenzkirch Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, on a base Vert a church Gules, issuant from dexter flanch a wreath Vert with three blossoms Azure seeded Or.
Meaning:
The Lordship of Lenzkirch was acquired by the Counts of Fürstenberg in 1491. Oberlenzkirch, where the church was, had been the seat pof the local reeve. The bailiwick was dissolved in 1806. Oberlenzkirch was renamed to Lenzkirch in 1866. After the surrounding villages had been incorporated between 1925 and 1975, the municipality nowadays has nearly the whole territory of the former lordship. The oldest seal from the 16th century already displayed the church as a canting element. The arms are based on a seal from the 18th century, the wreath with blossoms was alluding to the syllable "Lenz". The church had been depicted first in natural colours.
