Hagnau Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Azure a crozier Or, at sinister Argent a grapevine Azure twice leafed Vert.
Meaning:
The crozier is alluding to the vineyard abbots of the Benedictian Monastery in Altdorf, local rulers from 1152 until 1436, when the village was sold to Überlingen. In 1650 the village was sold to Einsiedeln Monastery, in 1693 it was regained by the Abbots of Altdorf (Weingarten). The crozier is alluding to the clerical rulers in the past. The grapevine is alluding to the vineyard abbey and to viticulture as main business line as well. In 1803 the village became a dominion of the Margraviate of Baden.
