Shield Azure a sword flambant of Gules and Or and hilted Argent in bend sinister; on dexter chief an inescutcheon parted per pale, at dexter Gules a fess Argent, at sinister Argent.
Meaning:
The sword is an attribute of St. Michael, the local patron saint. The inescutcheon is reminding on the Pelkofen kin, ruler of the Lichteneck district (Bavarian: Hofmark) since 1640, to which the biggest part of the current municipality belonged. The kin also built a new castle and in 1719 a new parish church.
