Oschersleben Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale. At dexter Gules two keys addorsed in saltire wards upward Argent, at sinister Argent with base Vert, issuant from base three bulrushes Sable stemmed Vert.
Meaning:
According to Mr. Schulte from the city archive the keys are representing the Archbishopric of Magdeburg and the Bishopric of Halberstadt. The city was located on the border between both territories. The bulrushes are alluding to the suburb Auf dem Damm (= on the dyke) and to Großer Bruch (= grand brook), a swampy countryside alongside the Bode River and name giver of the neighbouring municipality Am Großen Bruch.
