Milevsko standard of the city council

[Milevsko standard of the city council] by Kryštof Huk, 14 Sep 2018, after image from official document regarding the usage of the Milevsko city symbols; adopted 14 Jul 2014

The official document regarding the usage of the Milevsko city symbols also includes a "standard of the city council", titled as a "celebratory standard". Its official Czech description is "do horizontálních pruhů soušasné městské vlajky je zakomponována replika historické formy znaku" which translates to "into the vertical stripes of the current city flags is inserted a replica of the historical form of the arms".
The shape of the flag is that of a Spanish-style shield widening towards the top with five loops of the colour of the top stripe (red). The flag is set with golden tassels along the sides and bottom edge. The top stripe has contains the name of the city "MILEVSKO", written in white, gold-rimmed capital letters. The document mentions that the image of the standard is at a 1:10 ratio. Considering the size of the image (including tassels and loops) is 9.6 cm (height) and 8.7 cm (width at widest point), this would make the standard itself almost a meter in height (96 cm). This style of shield-shaped tasseled banner is offered by several flag producers in Czechia, usually in the form of printed or sewn depictions of the municipal arms filling the entire shape of the shield. The Milevsko council standard is probably a variation on this product.

Note on legal status of "other" city symbols such as this standard: According to law no. 128/200 Coll. on municipalities (municipal establishment), the Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies may grant a coat of arms and a flag to municipalities in Czechia. The general consensus is that "other" official municipal symbols are not prohibited, simply unregulated. Thus, while a "council standard" is not among the symbols mentioned in the law, the town is free to adopt one.
