Overview

La Tola is a municipality in the Nariño Department. It became a municipality on 5 January 1988.
The flag of La Tola is horizontally divided green-white.

Translated from municipal web site:
"The flag is made of two horizontal stripes, green-white, with the following meaning:
- Green represents the wide forests and mangroves, resources of the municipality;
- White symbolizes peace."
Mangrove covers one-fourth of the municipal territory, protected in the San Quianga National Park, created by National Decree No. 161 in 1977.
