This grape-like phantasy creation with its two swapped elements should symbolize the merger of two communes. The colour blue stands for Gerra (Verzasca), yellow for Cugnasco. With blue on green the heraldic rules of contrast are being violated once more.

On 20 April 2008 the communes of Cugnasco and Gerra (Verzasca) merged.
