Gules the Women's Gate Argent with roof and open portcullis Sable.
Željko Heimer, 3 November

The women's gate is the most important monument of the valley, and owes its name to the legendary battle of the women of Lugnez, in the feud between Werdenberg and Belmont in 1352, on the side of Belmont, which was of utmost importance at the time in the battle between feudalism and democracy.

Vert a Bend wavy Azure fimbriated Argent and overall an Annulet of the last and a Mullet of Four Or frettee.
Željko Heimer, 7 December 2002

The new commune of Suraua includes former communes of Camuns, Surcasti, Tersnaus and Uors-Peiden.
The new flag has been adopted on 7 May 2002. I have no information on the symbols, but I think that the 4-pointed star stands for the 4 former communes, the circle being certainly to symbolize the merger.
