On 28 March 2021, the citizens of Moutier are called for a vote to decide
whether they want to remain in the Bern canton or to be incorporated in the Jura
An earlier vote organized on 16 June 2017 was nullified by the Administrative Court because of several irregularities.
The municipal administration of Moutier expected the vote to be held on 9 May, while the Executive Council of the the Bern canton proposed an earlier date 7 February. Tripartite negotiation organized by the Federal Office of Justice, yielded a compromise.
