About the Flag

The municipality of Ouro Verde (7,794 inhabitants in 2010; 26,645 ha) is located in northwestern São Paulo State, 650 km of São Paulo.

The symbols of Ouro Verde are prescribed in Article 5 of the Municipal Constitution, adopted on 23 March 1990 and last amended on 20 September 2011, as "the flag, the coat of arms and the anthem in use when this Law was adopted".

The flag is diagonally divided green-yellow with the municipal coat of arms in the middle. The colours of the flag must refer to the name of the town (lit. "Green Gold") and to the Brazilian flag.
