About the Flag

The flag of the Municipality of Alvarães can be seen here:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php

It is a horizontal green-yellow-red tricolor, ratio about 1-2-1, with a central green lozenge bearing the seal.

Valentin Poposki, 23 May 2026

The flag is a yellow Spanish Fess, with green over red. The yellow bears a lozenge as wide as the flag is high(?), in which a red disk, which apart from a narrow edge is largely obscured by a white disk. The exception is the top 1/4th, that has a much larger red band. (So much so, in fact that I wonder if that bend would have lettering if we weren't shown the reverse.) Centred on the white is a blue compass star with on top of that and extending slightly into the blue a yellow letter "A".
