Gols is one of the biggest wine-growing communes in Austria. On the communal website it's described as
Austria's biggest, though it's not clear if this refers to the proportion of the vineyard area (50%), the
annual output of wine, or the people working in this industry (20%) or all together.

On a red shield, a silver tower with four battlements, standing on three green mounts, entwined with
vines bearing four vine leaves and two ripe yellow bunches of grapes.
The arms were granted in 1582 by emperor Rudolf II. Despite this history they aren't presented prominently
on the communal website, and only in black and white. We were able to identify three different versions:
the one on the website with jagged mounts and four leaves, the one on the flags with jagged mounts and five
leaves, and the one on Wikimedia with wavy mounts and four leaves.
