Description of the flag

An official flag of the town of Boscawen NH has been adopted. I have attached meeting minutes from the towns selectboard for confirmation, as well as a photo of the flag, a YouTube video describing the symbolism of the flag, and a FB post from the official town page too. We just unveiled it in the old home day parade yesterday.

Extracted from the minutes of the meeting:

TThe green band at the top represents agriculture, the fields, farms and rich history in town. In the green field, there are three elder trees growing out of the soil to represent the past, present, and future. The elder tree design itself was from the old Police badge. The middle of the flag has two black lines with a white line down the middle representing the crossroads to route 3 and 4. On the white line, there are six stars to represent the six branches of the military, and in between the stars is the phrase ‘lest we forget’ for the State Veterans Cemetery. There are two blue lines, separated by a dark blue line. One of the lighter blue lines represents the Merrimack River, and the other line represents the Contoocook river. The dark blue line represents the eastern border of Boscawen with the Merrimack River. The bottom of the flag has a green stripe to represent the forest, nature and wilderness. Mr. Crawford incorporated the original gear design from one of the old flags to represent the Benjamin Morrill clock, the mills on Commercial Street, and the modern industries in Boscawen such as Ross Express and Elektrisola.
Full details can be seen in the YouTube video.
