Description of the flag

A BANNER DAY
The Grand Island Independent

A banner designed by Hall County Regional Planning Director Nelson Helm was selected as the official flag for the city of Imperial. Helm's flag is green and white. A yellow Plow is in the center with the words "Honor Out Heritage, Prepare for the Future" around it. The contest was sponsored by the Imperial Community Improvement Committee. Imperial is Helm's hometown and his mother, Georgiana Wells, still lives in the community. In fact, Helm said his winning entry edged out a designed submitted by his mothers, who was one of eight people to submit ideas.

I did ask for a photo from the city, but they were of no use, so this is what we have for now.
