A Texas County flag, designed by Count Clerk Don Troutman, was unveiled during ceremonies last week. A related story details what is represented on the flag.

The solid blue area in the center represents the county general government. The Solid red quarter section areas represent county health system and county hospital system. The solid white quarter represent habilitation system and county library system.

The large six point white star made of six diamonds represent the six flags the have flown over Texas County: Great Britain. France, Spain, United States, State of Illinois and State of Missouri. The six large red diamonds surrounding the white star represent the six incorporated governments of the county: Cabool, Houston, Licking, Mountain Grove, Raymondville and Summersville. The 17 small white stars represent the 17 township governments within the county: Boone, Burdine, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Current, Date, Jackson, Lynch, Morris, Ozark, Pierce, Piney, Rubidoux, Sargent, Sherrill and Upton. The 10 stars (red, white, blue) in color surrounding the 17 white stars represent the 10 public school districts serving the educational needs of the county: Houston, Summersville, Mountain Grove, Cabool, Plato, Success, Raymondville, Licking, Mountain View and Willow Springs.
