Seal

[City seal] image located by David Sigley, 23 March 2025

The seal has a light blue ring with the city and state names, along with the establishment and incorporation years on either side. In between the names and years is a black Christian cross, representing religion, and it's history on the city. The central piece is divided into three parts, separated by and arrow and a brick wall. The first part shows a crossed Alabama and United States flags, with various tools surrounding them. These include a shovel, a mining helmet, a plough, a hoe, and a pickaxe. These represent agriculture and mining as primary economic drivers of the town. The second shows the National Cement Plant, the city's magnum opus of industry. The third shows the Ragland train depot, a forest, and the trout creek, which flows through the city.
