The arms are Vert a chevron Or and in chief a cogwheel Argent between two rail profiles Or and in base a windmill frame Sable roped Argent with vanes of the Same. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FREGUESIA DE VENDAS NOVAS".
Meaning:
While the municipal arms focus on the military and agricultural values of the town, the communal arms emphasize its industrial and railway importance.

Vendas Novas Commune is one of the two communes of the synomym municipality (q.v.). The commune had 10 825 inhabitants in 2001 and covers 152,87 km².
