Moita do Norte Commune is one of the pre-2013 communes of Vila Nova da Barquinha Municipality; it had 2092 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 6.8 km². Though being the bigger of two communes, Moita do Norte was incorporated into Vila Nova da Barquinha Commune in 2013.
