Granja Nova e Vila Chã da Beira is one of the three communes of Tarouca Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 429 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 13,54 km².

Coat of Arms

Shield Vert parted by a bend chequered of Argent and Gules, on sinister chief a bell Or, on dexter base a humming top of the same with beak Argent. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "GRANJA NOVA".
Meaning:
The bend, also called a Cistercian bend, is referring to the namesake order. The bell is referring to the former production of bells, well known in the region. The humming top, a toy, is representing the tradition of local arts and crafts.

Coat of Arms

Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, parted by a bend chequered of Argent and Gules, on sinister chief a chestnut twig Argent fruited Or, on dexter base a hand truck Or. Mural crown with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "VILA CHÃ DA BEIRA".
Meaning:
The chequered bend refers to the Cistercian Convent of Salzedas, which owned a local forest. The twig refers to orchardry and the production of wood. The truck refers to agriculture and the former art of manufacturing agricultural implements and to the old name Vila Chã de Cangueiros. The base wavy symbolises the Galhosa River, which has its source in the village.
