Coat of Arms

Shield Azure latticed Argent, on fess point a shrine Or, charged with a patriarchal cross Gules, on dexter chief a scallop Or, on sinister chief a heraldic rose Or, seeded Vert and barbed Argent, base wavy Azure a barrulet wavy Argent, issuant from base two mounts Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE GRADE E CARRALCOVA".
Meaning:
The central element is the shrine, keeping a relic of Santo Lenho (not found any infos about that saint). The scallop is an attribute of St. James the Elder, patron saint of former Carralcova Commune, the rose of St. Mary, patron saint of former Grade Commune.

Presentation of Grade e Carralcova

Grade e Carralcova is one of the 13 communes of Arcos de Valdevez Municipality created by a merger during the 2013 changes. It had 450 inhabitants in 2021 and covers 13,96 km².
