Shield Azure with base wavy of Argent and Azure, on centre a rectangular tower Argent masoned Sable with port and windows Gules, flanked by two palm fronds Or in pale, issuant from base wavy a throughout bridge Argent masoned Sable with four arches. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case serifed letters "UNIÃO DAS FREGUESIAS DE ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ (SÃO PAIO) E GIELA".
Meaning:
Bridge and base wavy are taken from the arms of the former São Paio Commune, the tower from those of the former Giela Commune. The palm fronds here seem to be auxiliar attributes of St. Pelagius and St. Vincent.

Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ARCOS DE VALDEVEZ (S. PAIO)".
Meaning:
The base wavy is representing Vez River, the name giver of the municipality.

Meaning:
The ravens are attributes of St. Vincent, the local patron saint.
