Boer village
Boer is a village in Franekeradeel municipality in (NW) Fryslân province.
It has less than 100 inhabitants, mainly living of agriculture and cattle-breeding.
It had a 12th century church.
Nickname: "Aeidoppen" (eggshells) - there is an old Frisian
saying: "Dy't aeien hat, kin doppen meitsje" - Who's got eggs can
make shells. Who has got money can do posh things. In olden days "kippenhouders"
(chickenbreeders, fat farmers) lived in Boer, as seems only logical because
"Boer" means: farmer.
No description available nor semiology. I suppose the wavy bar refers
to the mighty river Ried. The rose is from the old Franekeradeel flag.
