The council informed me the coat of arms of Unión Juárez was adopted in 1996, being designed by the teacher Saúl Maldonado from the municipal seat. It was adopted through a contest held by the Municipal President of the time, Eugenio Rodríguez Macario. The coat of arms has two coffee branches, principal product of the region. At the top of the shield is a yellow ribbon. The sides of the blue border read "UNION JUAREZ". In its inner area, the Tacaná Volcano is depicted under the sky. In its center, President Benito Juárez García is depicted over a yellow triangle signifying the original triangle shape of the town; Juárez is the namesake of the Municipality since 1870. Under this, the Suchiate River is depicted, signifying its boundary with Guatemala. Over this, two arms are seen handshaking for friendship.
