Cosio uses a flag not adopted by official means; it is white with the municipal coat of arms and has "COSIO" in black letters below it.

Description of the coat of arms, according to the Encyclopedia of Municipalities and Delegations of Mexico:

ARTICLE 12 - The Official Coat of Arms of the Municipality of Asientos is described in the following manner:

The coat of arms is formed by a "C" shape for Cosío, and on the frame of this "Siempre Progresando" [Always Progressing] is read. To the left, a map of the territory of the municipality is found, which contains its principal characteristics including: an agave plant, a cactus, a church, the railroad, and a bee representing the industriousness of its inhabitants. Over a book which is found to the right of the center, the symbol of enlightenment is found. This is over the area which represents the worked land; attached to this is a tractor, pumping equipment, and a cluster of grapes along with other products, representing the wealth of the land for agricultural production.
