Local Council Kafar Qara (in Arabic Pumpkin Village)
is situated on the Hadera-Afula road (road 65), 17 km east of
Hadera. Founded in the 18th century, a Local Council from 1958.
Pop. 11,800 almost all Muslims. The municipal emblem has not been
published in the official gazette (Rashumot) and is thus
unofficial. Publication process was initiated in 1996 but never
completed. The Local Council uses this proposal as municipal
emblem. The flag has been reported as white with emblem in
unknown colours; the flag is thus probable pending confirmation.
