The Institute of Leisure & Amenity Management is an Irish organization developing activities in support of organized leisure, founded in 1989 and relaunched in 2006. Established at Clane (Kildare), it is much involved in promoting good practices through the White Flag Awards. Quote from www.whiteflag.ie, ‘Information / About the White Flag’ (addressing management people):
“The White Flag Award is the quality mark that all leisure facilities must strive to achieve. The White Flag Award highlights to your customers, staff and the general public that your organisation is committed to achieving the highest standards of quality in the Leisure Industry. Launched in 2001, the White Flag Award is an independently audited award, recognised throughout the Leisure Industry, endorsed by Fáilte Ireland and the Irish Hotels Federation.”A list of 2007 awardees (you apply for a WF and may be granted one) is found here providing an impressive number of photos showing a *picture* of a flag: http://www.whiteflag.ie/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=13&Itemid=28
