Cerovlje (Italian, Cerreto) is located in central Istria, a few km north-east of Pazin. It has about 1,800 inhabitants, only about 200 of them living in the village of the same name.

The symbols of Cerovlje, are, probably, used unofficially, without approval by the central authorities.
The flag, as seen there in 2003, is in proportions 2:1 (vertical), yellow with the coat of arms set in the lower flag's half.

The coat of arms is a shield argent with an oak branch with two leaves and two acorns proper. The shield is bordered yellow with the black inscription "CEROVLJE" in the chief. There is a blue and yellow "heraldic" ornament that extends into a green border in the base.
The arms are canting: the name of the municipality refers to oak, cer being the archaic word for "oak", or, specifically, in the modern language used as the Croatian scientific name of the species Quercus cerris.
