The municipality of Molve (2,379 inhabitants in 2001, 1,536 in the village of Molve) is located about 15 km south-east of Koprivnica.

The symbols of Molve are prescribed by Decision Odluka o izmjeni i dopuni Odluke o grbu i zastaviOpćine Molve, adopted on 12 February 1996 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 14 March 1996 in the County official gazette Županije Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke, No. 1.
The symbols are described in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Molve, adopted on 4 October 2001 and published on 6 October 2001 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 11. This is repeated in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Molve, adopted on 16 January 2006 and published on 26 January 2006 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 1, in the Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Molve, adopted on 13 July 2009 and published on 15 July 2009 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 9, and in the current Municipality Statutes Statut Općine Molve, adopted on 27 March 2013 and published on 20 May 2013 in Službeni glasnik Koprivnicko-križevacke županije, No. 5 (text).
In 1995, the municipality awarded proposals made by Vanja Garaj from Koprivnica, Željko Oslavac from Virovitica, and Draženka Jalšić from Koprivnica, while the first was chosen to be proposed for the final adoption (Glas Podravine, 21 July 1995).
The symbols were approved by the Ministry of Administration on 3 January 1996, as reported by D. Ernečić.
The symbols were consecrated on 11 August 1996 in the parish church dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin (Glas Podravine, 16 August 1996).
The flag is described in Article 6 of the Decision, as follows:
The flag is in proportions 1:2, blue with the coat of arms, bordered white, in the middle.
The flags in use (photo, photo), as well as the flag shown in an exhibition held in Koprivnica in 2003, have the coat of arms without the white border, with only a black, somewhat bolder line, instead.

The coat of arms is described in Article 5 of the Decision, as " In blue over a silver (white) bar a silver (white) water mill."
The symbolic is further explained in Article 7 of the Decision, as follows:
The water mill and the bar symbolize river Drava and the economic activities linked to the river that directly influenced the formation and settlement of the village of Molve.
The coat of arms in actual use more or less regularly shows the window of the mill as black - while the drawing in the 1996 official gazette adopting it clearly shows it in the shield background colour (azure).

The former symbols of Molve are prescribed by Decision Odluka o grbu i zastavi Općine Molve, adopted on 27 July 1995 by the Municipality Assembly and published on 4 August 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Koprivnicko-križevacke, No. 9. Decision Odluka o pokretanju postupka za utvrđivanje grba i zastave Općine Molve, adopted on 24 February 1995 and published on 16 March 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Koprivnicko-križevacke, No. 1, prescribed a a public contest for the symbols. The annual agenda of the Municipality Executive Board Program rada Općinskog poglavarstva Općine Molve, adopted on 11 April 1995 and published on 24 April 1995 in Službeni glasnik Županije Koprivnicko-križevacke, No. 3, plans, for January-March the proposal of the Decision to run a public
competition for the design of symbols, then the proposal of the Decision
on symbols in April-June.
The flag is described in Article 6 of the Decision, as follows:
The flag is in the shape of a rectangle, with a ratio of length to width of 1:2, coloured blue. In the middle is set the coat of arms of the Municipality of Molve, bordered with a thin silver outline.
The coat of arms is described in Article 5 of the Decision, as follows:
In a semi-circular shield coloured blue there is a water mill, beneath which a thin wavy stripe symbolizes river Drava.
The symbolic is further explained in Article 7 of the Decision, as follows:
The water mill and the thin wavy stripe symbolizing river Drava are silver (white), symbolizing the important economic activities linked to the Drava, which had direct influence on the establishment and formation of the Molve settlement.
The colours are (not) prescribed in Article 8 of the Decision, as follows:
The colours of the coat of arms and the flag are not precisely prescribed in any standard colour system, but may be subsequently prescribed when a technical executive solution is found, in regard to the possibility of acquiring textiles (silk) and certain printing colours.
