History of Sicard

The company was founded in 1907 for the service of local lines on the Mediterranean coast of France, later extended to Corsica, Morocco and Oran (Algeria). The company operated scheduled lines between Marseilles and Port-la-Nouvelle (Languedoc) and Port-Vendres (Roussillon); Marseilles and Toulon, Saint-Tropez, Cannes, Nice and Monaco; Nice and Bastia and Ajaccio (Corsica); Ajaccio and the smaller Corsican ports; Marseilles and Oran, Saida, Tangiers, Kenitra and Casablanca.
Sicard operated 13 second-hand ships of medium size for about 30 years without any significant incident. The company was sold off in 1937.
