The flag of Bernes-sur-Oise, hoisted in the Champagne-sur-Oise traffic circle with the flags of the other municipalities of the Communauté de communes Haut-Val-d'Oise (photo), is white with the municipal coat of arms, "Per fess wavy argent, 1. Azure two demi-vols or addorsed around a nail argent, 2. Vert, a plate charged with a crosslet patty gules surmounted by two wheat garbs or banded gules.", and the name of the municipality below, as "BERNES-SUR-OISE". The flag hoisted in the same place in 2016 (photo) had the name of the municipality written as "Bernes sur oise" (it should have been "Bernes-sur-Oise").
The two wings picture the Bernes-sur-Oise airfield (akaka Persan-Beaumont airfield). The nail recall that Bernes belonged to the royal abbey of Saint-Denis in the Middle Ages. The wavy stripe represents river Oise. The wheat garbs highlight the agricultural origin
of the town. The plate stamped with the emblem of the temple of Jerusalem recalls the Commandery built by the Templars on the territory of Bernes, at a place called White Farm.
