Ethio Telecom, previously Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation (ETC), is the Ethiopian government owned telecommunications company and major provider of internet and telephone services in Ethiopia.
Originally a division of the Ministry of Post, Telephone and Telegraph, what
would become the ETC was established as the Imperial Board of Telecommunications
of Ethiopia (IBTE) in 1952. Under the Derg regime,
the IBTE was reorganised as the Ethiopian Telecommunications Service in October
1975, which was in turn reorganised in January 1981 as the Ethiopian
Telecommunications Authority. In November 1996, the Ethiopian Telecommunications
Authority became the ETC and was reorganised at Ethio Telecom on 29 November
2010.

followed by it's name in English and Amharic, in the centre of a large white
stripe. Thin green stripes are found above and below the white stripe.

The flag of the Ethiopian Telecommunication Corporation had a light blue flag field with golden fringe on all free edges and the company logo in white in the centre. The company name above the logo was in Amharic ("የኢትዮጱያ ቴሌኮሙኒኬሸን ኮርፖሬሸን" ="Yä’utəyop̣uya Telekomunikešänə Korəparešänə") and below in English ("Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation") set in white bold thick-serif capitals.
