The Flag

An image of the flag of Güel can be seen at Facebook. The flag of Güel is a horizontal bicolor of green over yellow, with a dark blue triangle at the hoist side. Within the triangle is eight Ecuadorian hats, certainly for the eight communities within the parish which are: Cachihuayco, Plan de Güel, Cachihuaycu, Yuracrrumi, Cóndor Samana, Rodeo, Cachiguso, and Minas.

However, on the physical copy of the flag (which can be seen at Facebook), the pattern of the hats appears to be more random than depicted on the drawing.

The shield depicts a mountain range with the sun above, the local church, a miner, and two parrots next to a bowl of fruit. Below the shield is a ribbon in green and yellow which reads "UNIDAD SOLIDARIDAD EL TRADICIÓN TRABAJO" Above the shield is a blue ribbon which reads "PARROQUIA GÜEL 10-07-1953".
