The flag is quarterly divided into orangy yellow and black. In its centre is a coat of arms, a modification of the former coat of arms of the city. Black and yellow had been also the colours of the city flag.
The coat of arms is quarterly divided showing a black statant bear in a white field in the 2nd and 3rd quarter. The bear in the 3rd quarter is sinister facing. In the 1st and 4th quarter is an upright white key in a red field. The inescutcheon shows the arms of the archbishopric of Trier, a white shield divided by a red cross.

The flag was white parted by a blue over red bend, superimposed by a blue over red bend siniste with additional blue initials on every quarter as follows:
"J"(top), "R"(hoist), "V"(fly) and "B"(bottom).

It is a white flag divided by a centred cotized black cross. In the upperhoist quarter there are dotted black capital letters "R.C.G.B." at the top edge of the flag.
In the centre of the flag is a yellow shield with a black eagle armed and tongued red (holy roman empire), superimposed by a white inescutcheon with a red Latin cross (archbishopric and electorate of Trier).
In times of establishment it seems to be a rather conservative club. The pattern of the flag is obviously inspired by the imperial German naval flag with the coat of arms of Boppard instead and the abbreviation of the clubs name in the canton.

The flag looks like 7-stripes black and white variant of the flag of the city of Bremen. But there is a white square canton with black capital letters "RGB" in a triangular formation. Within the 2nd and 3rd
black stripe are white fields containing in black capital letters the words "RUDERGEMEINSCHAFT" and "BOTTROP".

The 1st flag (see right image above) of a joint rowing and canoeing department, reported 2004, was actually a blue pennant.
Above were white icons of canoeing and rowing, below in two white horizontal stripes were blue inscriptions "RUDER UND KANUABTEILUNG" and "TSV BREMERVÖRDE".
