§2(2) of the local Hauptsatzung just mentions colours. Mr. Christian Päpper from the local administration however told me that there are existing two different versions of the SG-Flag, one is green over yellow, the other yellow over green.

Shield parted per fess wavy, above Vert a ship hoist Argent, beneath Or an oak twig Vert with one acorn and eight leaves.
Meaning:
The ship hoist is the best known building of Scharnebeck municipality. The oak twig is representing the comprehensive municipality, especially the leaves are representing the eight municipalities, belonging to Scharnebeck.
The arms were approved in 1983.

It is a yellow-white horizontal bicolour with centred arms. Beneath the arms is a black inscription in two lines "Gemeinde SCHARNEBECK". The 2nd line in capitals is bigger and the "A" is replaced by a red "A", shaped like a sail.

Shield Azure, a ship hoist Argent, transporting two ships Or, base Or charged with two croziers Sable in saltire and a green acorn between the croziers.
Meaning:
The ship hoist is the best known building of Scharnebeck municipality. The acorn is alluding to the namesake comprehensive municipality. The croziers are alluding to former Scharnebeck monastery.
The arms were approved on 30 September 1996 by Lüneburg County.

Shield Argent with three fold base wavy Azure, charged with a fowl anchor sable fimbriated Argent; issuant from base a mount Vert, crowned by a church tower tawny, which is flanked by bushes Vert.
Meaning:
The tower is representing the local fortified parish church, dedicated to St. Nicolas. The base wavy is representing Elbe River. The base is sometimes depicted Argent with just three black wavy lines.

Shield Vert, parted by a bend sinister Argent, at the bottom charged with four barrulets demi-engrailed Azure, issuant from sinister base a belfry Argent, however without bell, in dexter chief a H-shaped charge ending above in horseheads (blazoned as crossed horseheads).
Meaning:
Brietlingen had a little chapel, which had to be demolished in 1850 due to its disrepair. As the neighbours in nearby Lüdershausen had the right, that the church bell had to be rung on funerals, the municipality built a school with a belfry. The school today is a kindergarten, the bell of the belfry was moved to the local chapel on the graveyard in the 1960ies. The horseheads are representing the gable shelves of the local Lower Saxonian farmhouses and are also alluding to horse breeding. The name of the municipality, first mentioned in 1004, is derived from "brid" (= bridle). Bend sinister and barrulets are symbolising the riches of watercourses (Neetze, Neetzekanal, Reihersee and many little channels). The green colours is alluding to the local marshes.
The arms were approved in 1993. The flag had never been approved officially.

Meaning:
The name is derived from "Eichheim" (= home of the oaks). The trees are thus canting elements.

Shield Or, issuant from base a mount Vert charged with an oak twig Or with three leaves and two acorns, on top of the mount a Dutch windmill Sable, which was restored in 1998/1999.
Meaning:
The Dutch windmill with a gallery was built in the 19th century on top of the Mühlenberg, a hill. The mill was restored in 1998/1999. Today it is defunct and used as a flat. The twig is representing the local 1000-years oak.

Meaning:
Horseheads are typical ornaments to decorate the roof tops of Lower Saxonian farmhouses. The urn is probably alluding to excavations and is symbolising the early peopling of the village.
