Shield Gules a horse passant Argent burdened by a sack Or full of salt, in base a sledgehammer Or reversed in pale surrounded by a horseshoe reversed of the same.
Meaning:
Sledehammer and horseshoe are referring to the local blacksmiths and their smithies. They shod the horses of the salt waggoners. The horse is symbolising the location on the golden path, a salt road between Passau and Böhmen (Bohemia). The tinctures silver and red are those of the Bishopric of Passau, local ruler until 1803.
