Flag

The new canton in the Province in Alajuela was created in 30.03.2017, carved from the Canton of Grecia, under the name Canton of Rio Cuarto. However, its legislative and executive organs weren't elected until 01.05.2020, when the Municipality became fully effective.

The flag consists of three horizontal stripes of orange over white over dark blue
